In a section of Barack Obama's book (DREAMS FROM MY FATHER) Obama tells the story of a FRIEND of his in Chicago. This was during the time in the early days of Obama's career as a community organizer. Obama's friend was earning his money by going outside of COOK COUNTY ( which had very strict gun laws even at that time) and buying ammunition and then reselling it in the neighborhoods where Obama worked. According to Obama this fellow had made so much money doing this that he was stuffing cash inside sofas and walls. He was so paranoid about having all of this cash that he started giving it away. I think Obama may be telling the truth about the guy buying ammo outside of Chicago and reselling it in Obama's neighborhood but I seriously doubt the part about him giving away money. However that is not the point. My point is : Is Obama too stupid to realize that CRIMINALS will find a way to obtain ANY product that there is a demand for and can be resold at a huge profit? The only people that suffer any consequences from strict gun control laws are the ordinary law abiding citizens, not criminals. A target shooter or hunter is not going to pay an unreasonable amount for a box of ammo to go shoot rabbits or targets. However an armed robber is willing to pay huge sums of money for ammo for the gun that he uses to rob. rape or kill other people. Read the book.

It's typical of Maryland Democrats to spend resources tracking/harassing law-abiding citizens when the funding could be put to better use elsewhere.

Does anyone need a better example of how liberalism is a mental disease?

I don't think this is a liberal/conservative issue. There are plenty of people right in the middle and to the left that oppose this bill as well. Liberal gun owners exist, and we get marginalized all the ****ing time.

I don't understand why both sides are so damned keen to take away our rights.

Apparently Beretta has had enough and is preparing to move their factory elsewhere.
