I've heard in maryland, there is tension between blacks and central american latinos. I wonder how black-hispanic/latino relations will play out with the increasing influx of Puerto ricans and other caribbean hispanics (who historically gotten along with blacks).

There is no tensions between us, at least here in the DC-Maryland suburbs. We're cool with each other for the most part.

No I doubt that will happen. Same as any other immigrant group, its easier to move to an area where you have friends or family. I know a few but I don't expect huge growth from any Latin group other than Mexicans and Central Americans in Maryland.

There is no racial tension between AA gangs and MS-13 gangs. Especially in the schools such as Bladensburg, Northwestern, High Point, and Parkdale HS as they have a majority Latino population and AA population following.

Its not like how it is in movies like Dangerous Minds and High School High and South Central. Its 2014 not 1994. LOL

I love Puerto Ricans! Grew up with them! I hope to see more of them. Still waiting for a good Puerto Rican and Dominican restaurant in Baltimore.

There is some tension between older blacks and Hispanics but not among the younger ones. For example, it seems like in the Central American culture, it's no big deal to cut in front of somebody while you're standing in line at the store. When a Central American does that, most likely they will get cursed out on the spot or worse.
I'm not talking out the side of my neck, I grew up among a lot of Central Americans. The young ones though, try very hard to fit in to black American culture.
