Question Elkridge and Ellicott City

I usually post in the CA forums, but I have realtives in these cities back there.

Would someone be willing to tell me how these places have changed?
The last time I was there, was in 1992.

I am so wondering....I don't talk to my relatives that much lately.

Thanks for any help

I've lived here for 10 years and I can tell you the biggest change is it is soooo crowded. All the farms are being turned into McMansion developments with postage stamp lots. So sad.

newhart is on a distinguished road
Well, in EC the houses keep getting larger and more expensive and development is spreading west, though not as fast as it was a few years ago. A new high school opened a couple of years ago that serves some of the western EC area. That makes 12 high schools for the county. There's not much new commercially, that tends to stay in Columbia. EC has a reputation for being a high-income bedroom community.

When I moved to the area, Elkridge to me was biker bars and the Rt. 1 corridor. I think it still has some of that blue-collar feel but there are some pricey new home communities being built in the I-95/Rt. 1 area. A lot of new townhouse and condo developments have been built which attract a lot of young professionals. And the Furnace Inn is still there are doing well. But it's still considered a low-rent area in comparison to EC.

Thanks so much--I miss it when it was mostly graveled driveways, and one shopping center--forgot what it was called....
