Question What about La Plata..and is College of Southern Maryland any good?

I am planning on moving up to MD, in that general area, and just wanted to know if it is a good place to go to school and if it was close to a Target since I will be transferring with them too.

and the last part...if I don't attend CSM should I just move closer to UM in college park??

any help??

LaPlata is nice. There is a Target there right on 301. Will you be looking to buy or rent? I think I can honestly say that I don't know of any apartments in LaPlata but you could go to apartmentratings.com and find out.

La Plata is a really lovely town and there are multiple apartment rental options in the region. What sort of price range would you be looking to rent in? My brother goes to CSM and he really seems to like it, but I think it depends on how big of a school you want to go to. CSM still has a very small campus feel to it, much the polar opposite of University of Maryland.

CSM is a community college and as such offers only Associate's degrees. It has a good engineering/science/math program and a lot of kids go from it to Engineering school. The Navy has kinda demanded those programs because of Patuxent River Naval Air Station (Pax River) and the need for the folks there to upgrade their skills. It's the Navy's Test Flight facility, lots of civilian jobs aboard base.
