Default Need advice on Owings Mills Area

Hey,

I'm a graduate student at JHU and am planning on moving into MD. After having done some research, it was quite obvious that I should try and avoid living near JHU. I am a female (south-east asian) and am looking into apartments in the Owings Mills area. How is the crime rate in the area? Also, how safe is the commute if I have evening classes (ending at 9pm)? I know the metro only runs from the Owings Mills station to Johns Hopkins Hospital. How safe is it to go from JHU to Johns Hopkins Hospital/metro at that hour?

Thanks,
MP
