I can think of at least two outdoor pools in Hickory Ridge area. One is in the Hawthorne neighborhood on Sunny Spring Dr. and the other is in Clemens Crossing on Martin Rd. In addition, there are several others in villages not far away. There are a lot of different playgrounds, depending on where you are.

Did you recently buy in Hickory Ridge? My husband and I are looking there now.

I haven't lived there for quite a while, but still go there for things. Depends on where you're looking. The northern part near the hospital and HCC is older and the townhome communities might have a lot of renters. Generally, the further away from the hospital, the better.

All the villages in Columbia have at least one pool (and most have more) and small playgrounds dotted all along the paths but we also have great large playgrounds at Centennial park which is beautiful. Hickory Ridge is a great area and the proximity to the hospital is not a big deal, it's over exaggerated. You can go to the Columbia Association website for info on the pools (there are also indoor pools for use all year round with membership) http://www.columbiaassociation.com/, and there is also community information in abundance on that site as well. Good luck!

Hickory Ridge
I rent there and think it's a great area. Plenty of beautiful walking paths, and great proximity to Merriweather, the mall, and restuarants.
