Default Washington County

I work in Gaithersburg and am interested in buying a home in Boonsboro or Hagerstown, Maryland. The homes are new and affordable. I have heard great things about Boonsboro but I am concerned about the commute. Does anyone have any recommendations? Also, how is it during inclement weather? I would appreciate any advice.

I live in Frederick. I believe you can take the Marc train into Gaithersburg which would give you less of a headache than driving. Before I became a WAHM, I commuted from Frederick to Rockville. The drive sucked. During the summer it wasn't bad but when it rained or snowed, forget it. But you are so right that the houses up in Washington County are so much cheaper.

I live in wash co. now and we relocated from Philadelphlia to here because the houses were so much cheaper compared to Frederick and Mont Co. My husband commutes to McClean, VA everyday and the commute is long [60-90 min] but bearable, but only because he works 6:00 am- 2:30pm

I have travled to Gaithersburg from Hagerstown during the morning rush and it's TOURTURE, not fun at all. And it was sunny and clear the days I did. I could only imagine how bad it would be if it were raining/snowing/foggy etc.

You may also want to check out Middletown, MD. There are a lot of new communities being built and it's a little closer, but will be more expensive
