Hi all,

I searched the forum for a MVA question thread but didnít find it, so, sorry, I know my question is dumb but I need clarity. Iím so excited to be moving to Maryland. I am, however, not looking forward to dealing with the MVA and getting registered and such, haha. To prove residency, I was thinking my second source of proof would be my lease. But Iíve been told the lease needs to be notarized but people Iíve talked to have been confused about it. Does anyone know how the MVA prefers this to work. Weíre signing the lease in a week or two with my landlord. Does the MVA need the landlord (ie: the buildingís owner) to sign it in the presence of the notary? Or me, as the tenant and the one who is using it as source of proof? One other girl will be on the lease when we sign it as well, but I canít imagine MVA cares about a notary witnessing her signature and making it credible.

Also, do they accept cell phone bills as proof? The website says "telephone bills" are acceptable, but I know some school counties in MD do not accept cell phone bills. One would think the website would specify if cell phone bills were not permissible, but I don't hear the best things about the MVA, so...

Thank you!
