Nice area? Looking to relocate to Maryland and Fort Washington is an option. Any information would be much appreciated.

What area of Fort Washington. The area of Fort Washington has been expanded in recent years to include, well, some undesirable sections. If you're talking about areas off of Indian Head Highway, on either side, its very nice. Some sections that were formerly Temple Hills, Camp Springs and Oxon Hill are now called Fort Washington. Be careful of some of these areas (although I think Temple Hills is still a good area, if you stick to the single family homes parts of Temple Hills -- stay away from the townhouses, apts, and condos.)

Yes, we are looking for a single family in the price range of $450-$500K. So, the Indian Head section is nice?

You should be able to find a really nice home in that price range. You can look in Aragona Village, Tantallon on the Potomac, Oaklawn Knolls, and Steeds Grant. Try Edgewood Grove as well.

What you can also do is search for new communities in Fort Washingtin, You might get a better deal then resale homes. Try Khovanian homes. I know Khov are building new communities in fort Washington.

MOST of Prince Geo County is "un-incorporated" (not legally organized as towns) so there are NO municipal websites for any of those communities (such as Fort Washington and most others). You can identify "Incorporated" communities by their yellow shading on road maps. Many of these communities marked in yellow on maps, will have official websites.
You can also go to Wikipedia and search by names of communities. As a lifelong resident since 1950, I myself personally wrote much of the Wikipedia articles on Oxon Hill, Fort Washington, Forest Heights, Accokeek, Clinton, Upper Marlboro, and some other communities, including information helpful to newcomers.
