Commute Times
Pkoons or anyone who can help,
My husband and I are moving out to Maryland soon. He will be working in Glen Burnie and I'll be working in the Capitol Hill area. So we need to live somewhere in between, preferably with not terrible commutes for both of us. He will drive and I will take the Metro/Marc. Do you have any suggestions on where we should be looking? I would appreciate a realistic assessment of Metro/Marc commute from Bowie, Davidsonville, etc.
Any help you can give would be so appreciated!
Eboyle

eboyle, try Laurel. Quick drive to Glen Burnie (against rush hour traffic) and Marc train line right in Laurel.

eboyle it helps to know how much you are willing to spend in rent or a house. There is such a variety of places.

Moving to MD
Hi. I need help!!! I will be working in rockville while significant other will be in baltimore (695 & 70). We need a location to live that will provide us with a somewhat equal commute. I do not want to commute more than an hour. Less is better! Important is cost of homes. Everything is soooo expensive. Price range 500K Single family home.
thanks-

You're doomed then. To stay within an hour of Rockville will require you to be in Montgomery County for sure, and that's a heck of a commute (35+ minutes minimum if you're in HoCo right at Rt. 97 and I-70) to 695/70. Maybe around the western half of Columbia or down towards Rt. 216 if you don't mind learning the back roads, but you'll still be pushing an hour + during the morning and evening rush (until the ICC comes along that is).

Live somewhere along Maryland Highway 108 (Sandy Spring?). It will still take a lot of time, but you should be able to get to either Rockville or Baltimore areas in under an hour.
