I currently live in Frederick and need to move from my current home. I found a house in the Carrollton area, but I don't know much about that part of town despite living a mile away from it now. I will only rent the house for about 1-2 years, at which point I hope to have enough saved up for a nice down payment.

I know the route 40 area is usually said to be bad and this is kind on route 40, not as much the golden mile, but still. I'm wondering how bad is it? I don't have children so I don't have to worry about kids or schools. I currently live on N Bentz street, in the 4th to 6th street area and really don't mind how "bad" it is there. Could these to areas be considered to have a similar atmosphere?

Thanks for any responses
