Hi

I am the market to buy a Townhouse in Seven Oaks in Odenton. Any advise is this a safe area with low crime? New to Maryland. Look online for stats but is really inconsistent with the information provided.Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to anyone that reply in advance.

We looked in this area and choose Piney Orchard instead. The neighborhood is much nicer, more amenities and is safer.

Thank you for replying. Base on the reviews it seems like seven oaks is not that save.

Define "safe". Piney Orchard is a very amenities rich community (expensive) so that is a good option. But it all depends on where you need to be for work and what you are comfortable with.

I also decided to steer clear of 7 Oaks in favor of Piney Orchard.

I drive past 7 Oaks along Route 175 fairly often, this area is like the land that time forgot. Boarded up businesses, tattoo parlors, package goods stores, Asian cuisine, dry cleaners, run-down looking clubs.

Also note that this area feeds into Meade High, one of the absolute worst schools in Anne Arundel country by any measure you care to take.

My $0.02

This is a very accurate 2 cents. Also, the part of Route 175 that goes into Odenton is old and run-down. Perhaps if they have projects to revamp the area it may improve. However, they have been focusing more on developing Route 3 and so that whole stretch of Route 175 in Odenton seems forgotten.
