I'm originally from AA County, but I know only a bit about northern Baltimore county and the surrounding areas.

My fiance and I recently graduated from York College and are now considering renting an apartment in MD because she has a job at Johns Hopkins and I'm working in Timonium. My commute from York is only 35-40 minutes now, but her's would be more like 50-60. Our rent here, however, is very affordable.

What I wanted to know is if there was any particular area that would not be in Baltimore city itself that would also offer us a 1-2 bedroom apartment in a safe neighborhood, give both of us about a 35 minute commute (or less) and cost $600-720 a month in rent?

I was thinking of Towson or Owings Mills. Thanks.

Hello,
The areas you suggested are good (Towson, Owings Mills), however it will be difficult to find a rental in that price range ($600-720). Let me know if you have other questions.

I live in Towson and it is very nice. As the previous person mentioned though, it will be very hard to find an apartment in the price range you're hoping for. Same for Owings Mills. I would try Cockeysville, which is right next to Timonium. The prices will be much closer to your range and it is safe and clean. There are a few nice properties on Cranbrook Road. Good luck!
