Default Relocating

I'm relocating to Maryland also, from Michigan though. And, I was informed that Towson was a great area for single parents, I didnt ask about section 8 though because, I was waiting until I got their to get on the waiting list. But, im trying to enroll at Morgan State University they have family housing and they also help Single parents out Alot! I know they do have easy commuting in that area. I have a friend their who did tell me that they have alot of resources for single mothers in the state of Maryland im a single mother of 4 So, im really trying to get as much information as i can before I move their in july also.

You don't have to look at just subsidized housing complexes in Columbia. You can also apply to rent a home that is listed through a real estate company - they do accept housing voucher applicants.

Thanx, dhelfoioracle. Is there any areas or apartment communities you reccomend? I have a list of about 50 apartment communities, don't know where to start. I've called a few, some are nice but majority of them, the staff sound so rude. Columbia sounds like its right for me. But then again I'm having second thoughts. Can't leave NY (Where people are rude all the time) to go to another state and get the same hospitality. That's one of the major reasons that I want to leave. A different environment for my kids. Oh and less pollution!

Funny how most folks think only of Baltimore and its suburbs. If you don't mind more quiet living away from the urban/suburban congestion and crime, I recommend southern Maryland. Virtually nay town you pick is great; Lexington Park and that area are extremely affordable, safe and clean. And then there's the Eastern Shore; lots of great communities like Easton and Salisbury. Worth considering if you want to live away from the city - Baltimore is a sty, horribly crime-ridden and its suburbs aren't much better.

I can understand your worries about rude people but they are everywheres. Most people are nice. If you make small talk with them and be cheerful you'll get further. In general people love to talk. You don't know how their day has been anymore then they no how your days been. Try this. Ask them about themselves then ask them about the area and the information you need. Howard County one thing is for sure the people love to talk. Don't give up just yet. If you need more help sent me a direct message. Good luck and smile it will be okay!
