As I mentioned on another thread, I don't think you could go wrong with either Bel Air or Abingdon..both are convenient to everything you mentioned. I don't know enough about the Havre De Grace area to really offer an opinion. What are you confused about? Have you consulted with a realtor?

No i haven't linked up with a realtor as of yet. Do you have any recommendations as far as they are concerned? Do they service all of the surronding areas? Everyone has their opinion i guess and that is what makes me confused about. I guess i will get a real feel for the area once i get there and check the areas out myself. How are the rentals and prices in the Abingdon area?

I am not much help with the pricing...I would try calling the local Remax office<Moderator cut: all realtor recommendations should be made via DM> thanks. and they should be able to help with that. Yes, everyone has there opinion and I totally understand your frustration as I just relocated to Alabama and had no clue about areas down here. Your best bet is to check out the area and see for yourself. I also forgot to mention there is also a brand new YMCA in Abingdon if you will be needing after school care for your child.

I am interested in knowing which has the better school system since i have a 6yr old. Town homes with cul de sacs that are for rent? Convenice to shopping? Don't want to drive 20mins just to get to an grocery store. I want access to shopping but want the convenience of living in a quiet neighborhood that is kid friendly. Easy commute to APG no more than 20mins. If any one can help me out i would greatly appreciate it.
Most of Bel Air is going to be more than 20 minutes from APG. I live just off rt 40 between Aberdeen and HdG, yet it takes me 20 minute to get to my office (but I am way in the back corner of post - its 10 minutes to the gate, 10 minutes from the gate).

I actually love our location. We are 5-8 minutes from Aberdeen, which has everything you *need* (Target, Home Depot, Grocery stores). I like to say Aberdeen has everything you need but nothing you want. For fun shopping I go up to Bel Air or White Marsh. Sometimes Delaware.

Hi I am also considering this area, I like HDG but would like to be a little closer to the stores and yet "NOT" in Aberdeen. To be in between the two seems ideal. I do believe in the future this area (Aberdeen) will turn around but for now it is not that desirable. Please note I am referring to shopping *wants* like "Wegmans, Wholefoods, HomeGoods, and Steinmart. Yes I know I can go to Bel Air but I prefer to live in a smaller community. We went to Bulle Rock but it was way too large and the so-called guarded gates were unmanned and wide open. Anyway if you can shed some light on smaller subdivisions or incorporated areas in between HDG and Aberdeen I would truly appreciate that, Thanks

Well, you aren't going to get Whole Foods in Abderdeen.... ever. But Abingdon is getting a Wegmans.

Anyway, I have a pretty detailed post in this thread: http://www.city-data.com/forum/maryl...oving-apg.html

Default Moved to Joppatowne with BRAC

I moved to Joppatowne, for some reason people really put a bad rap on this place. I got a home 3 blocks from the water. The area is great! kids play outside I have two kids 4 and 8 the school is great! I could get to any shopping area in Bel Air or white marsh in less than 20 min. No traffic going to APG. A big plus! I say to you take a look.. really
