Daycare
Hello! I live in Crofton and work in Columbia. I am looking for infant daycare that is on the way to work. Can anyone recommend a center in the area? Thanks!

How much do you want to spend? Do you prefer a provider who runs daycare at his/her own home, or a kiddie-mill? Are religious daycare centers or montessori schools possibilities you might consider?

Locate Child Care Maryland has a website where you can search for regulated (licensed) child care in the state based on your address. They list both home based child care as well as child care centers. Finding Child Care

I just want quality daycare. Right now I am not leaning towards center, house, school, etc. I am looking for something in the Fall. Many of our friends are lucky and have their parents watch their children during the day. If anyone has a good experience or reference, I would love the feedback!
I will also check out that website. Thanks for the responses.

DBRM,
Have you found a child care yet? My mother, who lives in Crofton, is looking for a child to take care of. She only takes care of one kid at a time. The boy she was taking care of is leaving her in April. She has been taking care of him since he was infant, and now he is ready to be with other kids. She also took care of my two kids. Please contact me if you are interested.

Another site is sittercity.com, I used them in another state that I lived in. You can find nannies, babysitters, etc. in your zipcode and you can do a background check from their site.
The only downside is that they charge the parents a fee to belong. I do not believe it is a lot but I did not have to pay because my husband's company's benefits gave him free access. You may want to check with your company to see if they have a relationship with them, good luck.
Also, you can visit a few daycares and if you find a care provider there that you like, you can see if you can entice them to work for you instead of the center. You can ask the parents who come to pick up who they like in the center as well. A lot of the centers do not pay well so they people working there are usually looking for nanny jobs. Some of the best people at the daycare center where I used to live left for fulltime nanny jobs.
