Default replacement window recommendation?

I am looking to replace 4 windows in my basement. DO you have any recommendations of a reasonably priced company that does a good job on replacing windows? I had a company replace my windows upstairs and they charged me 350 per window( that was for a Low E double hung window+installation). However, I contacted them and they have yet to get back to me. I am looking for someone to match this price or beat it, I do not necessarily have to have double hung downstairs...

I have mid-priced windows in my home, at $650 each. You're not going to beat $350 unless you go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy replacement windows there, for about $125 each. They're unbelievably easy to install. Try it.

try home depot and lowes, they have contractors that come out and do it all..prices are competitive and you can charge on their card. If issue you have better recourse.

I had Home Depot put in a sliding glass door for me and they did an aweful job. I just hate that they contract the installation out so you never know who you are getting. I am happy to tell you that the guy called me back last night, he had something happen that prolonged him from calling me back. He quoted me $340 for a double hung, low E window...that includes installation and the window...so I am going to jump on it after reading stuff on the internet, I guess he was the best deal. Thanks!!

Can you share who did your installation? We are looking for replacement windows and have been getting some very high quotes.

Thank you.

We had Home Depot install the replacement windows and a sliding glass door on our old townhouse. The contractor did an awful job...didn't come for days without calling to explain. Also, about a year later a HUGE crack developed over one of the windows. Home Depot finally sent someone out and they caulked it, but I would recommend that if you get the windows from Home Depot to save money get a contractor that you can trust to install them. By the way, when we wrote a letter to Home Depot complaining about the service and the contractor, we never heard back from them.
