I live in Severna Park. It is very family oriented here. Every month they publish there own paper, which arrives free via your mailbox. It talks about all the local happenings. During Christmas they have an annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony. We also have a community center, which is in the process of being reconstructed. We have a community pool, etc. A great place to raise your family. I live near Jones Elementary school, it is rated the 4th best in maryland among elementary schools. There is another one here as well and it is rated #2. I do not remember the name off hand. There is plenty of shopping and things to do here. It is a very nice area. I live on the Arnold border, so only a few blocks up begins Arnold. Arnold too is very nice. My son and I belong to a playgroup and a few of the girls live there. Good luck with your search. If you have any questions feel free to email me. Also when looking for homes in Severna Park, there are no bad areas, you might come across some homes that are overpriced though. But in your price range you can definitely find everything you are looking for here.

When we first moved here we were going to rent in Crofton, because it too is a nice area. However, it had a lot of traffic issues getting there from Annapolis.

Yea, but nearly every highschool student in SPHS gets high.

And you have statistics that proves this. You are telling me there are no drugs in the schools in Glen Burnie, Pasadena, Annapolis. Drugs are everywhere. You as a parent have to do the best you can to make sure your child does not do drugs. The first step is to live in a nice area.

The statistics...are I went there, and I know what goes on at SPHS. All the little snobby rich kids have nothing better to do than sit around and get high. Ecstasy is the drug of choice 'round those parts. Then Crystal Meth.

Crofton, Odenton, Gambrills, Severna Park are all great areas. You may want to look on the edge of Crownsville and Annapolis as well. Pasadena is okay, but I think the town is very inside, to where major roads are not easily accessible...
Hope this helps

I have a friend that lives in Pasadena and loves it. We used to live in Crofton. Crofton is very nice but also very expensive. We live in Millersville near the Old Mill Schools. Our daughter is not old enough to attend school yet, but we have heard some nice things about the Old Mill Schools. You should be able to find something within your budget in Crofton, Pasadena, or Millersville.

Pasadena is totally sweet. I don't know why I love AA county so much but I really do. Don't think anything is "wrong" with Mountain Road, Pasadena is fine.
