Default Help! Is this area nice/safe? (Columbia)

From research, I know that this is a less desirable area than other parts of Columbia and I know that the schools aren't quite as good but is this very specific part of Columbia nice and safe? Are there apartments really close by? In case the link doesn't work its Moderator cut: deleted house number Gentle Way Columbia 21045. Thanks!

I believe that most of Columbia is nice and safe. I have been there, but don't know too much. Sorry.

No, there aren't any apartments close by and I think the area is pretty safe. I think the main problem with that area is the schools. A lot of parents open-enrolled their kids in Stevens Forest ES when you could still do open enrollment, in order to avoid going to Talbot Springs. I know someone who was a long-time resident of that neighborhood and recently moved to a larger house, but stayed in the area because she like it.

I think it is Jeffers Hill Elementary, Oakland Mills Middle School, and Oakland Mills High School. Are these really that bad?

I'm sorry, I was confusing this street with another one nearby and was mistaken about the ES. According to the HCPSS school locater, the schools are Cradlerock ES, Cradlerock MS and Oakland Mills HS. You can find profile information on the Cradlerock school here:

Oakland Mills is kinda run-down and scary lately, as is owen brown. I used to live in both areas, had a friend killed execution style just a block from his high school. (Oakland Mills High) I once had a car (I am not making this up) chase my car down brokenland parkway out of owen brown, driver in a ski mask, and stop his car in front of me blocking brokenland. I had to turn around going the wrong way to escape and got on a highway exit as fast as I can.

You might want to recant your statement. Stevens Forest is not highly rated.
