I am going to start working in Bowie and am currently looking for a place to live. The one problem I ran into whilst researching the are is that the schools in Bowie and PG County are not as good as I would expect. I am looking for an area with good schools(2 kids 1 in elementary 1 in high school) and an area where apartment rent is not too expensive(~$1,000/month).
Thank You very much for recommendations.

You've set yourself up to make a hard choice. Good schools and your rent number are pretty much mutually exclusive.

I would tell you to go up the road a bit to the Crofton area but your rent number will have to go to $1500 or thereabouts.

Even in Bowie the $1000 wouldn't happen.

$1000 a month for rent, even for a 1 br, is simply not realistic in this area. What location in Bowie will you be working?

not in bowie for 1000 a month. see in the DMV, you really can’t have it all. What i mean is safety, shopping, price and great schools together. bowie doesn’t have good schools but the area is nice. so mabie try largo, hyattsville, anne arundel county, or other areas that not as upscale as Bowie. good luck. you get what u pay for here.

Wrong. Bowie has great elementary schools and a good middle school, if you live in right area (Whitehall Elementary, Heather Hills Elementary, Tulip Grove, Samuel Ogle Middle School).
