Hi All,

I am planning to shift from Seoul to Rockville next month. I don't have much idea about Rockville, MD.

Can any one suggest the high level things about cost of living and lifestyle in Rockville.

- Cost of Rent of 1br or 2br
- Food/Grocery etc
- Travel/Transport etc
- Total cost of living for indian family

Thanks,
Amit

which one is better compare to gaithersburg or rockville ? My new office located in Shadygrwo road. I am not sure which place is good to live near to that area.

In the few online website the rent for 1b showing 1200-2000/- so it is correct or I do some negotiation for low rate.

Generally, in the U.S. there is little to no negotiation on rental rate and there will be a wide range of prices depending on the age, size, and location of the apartment building.

Rockville and Gaithersburg are large areas with both nice and less-nice areas (and are generally more and less expensive, accordingly). Do you have a budget in mind? I'd recommend trying to find an apartment within walking or biking distance to the job to simplify transportation while you get settled. Alternatively, there is a decent public bus system, but I don't know exactly which bus lines would serve your job's address.

In your situation, a REALTOR, would probably be very helpful. Does your new company have a relocation department, or person within HR to assist newly hired employees with their transition?
