Default Yummm....another crabs post!

Was curious as to where everyone's favorite places to get crabs in each county (except OC)- especially Howard, since I'd love some ideas!
We usually go to Bottom of the Bay in Laurel, or if we're on Kent Island, we'll go to the Crab Shack- where they are excellent.

In Mont.Co, there was this place called (I think) The Middlebrook Inn on Rt. 355 in Germantown. I think it closed up for a while but is now reopened. They have great 1/2 bushels and bushels.

Definately to sit there and eat them - or you are welcome to call Hunters in Grasonville (410/827-8923) and they will prepare them for you to take home anytime.

Really nice people - EXCELLENT quality

The thought of the prices that will be charged for crabs just hit me.

A bushel of steamed crabs is $100 easy in the early part of the season. I always like crabs after July as they are fatter. Some of the best I've had are around September - October. I am used to the crab shacks down on the Potomac in Charles or St Mary's county. The crabs out of the Wicomico are good as well.

I remember when we bought them live for $20 a bushel, $15 if we got 2.
Oysters were had for $25 a bushel as well.

It's cheaper to go out and catch your own crabs.
