So you have been to every place in the country and KNOW that NONE of them have good crab cakes.

There is nothing like keeping your head in the sand!

I guess you DON'T know that Va. shares the bay with us and is as much a steamed crab and crab cake lover as Md'ers are.

I know of a few places NOT in MD nor Va. that the chefs are from MD and make very good crab cakes.

As the summer nears its end MANY places get their crabs from NC and Louisiana.

But, hey, YOU know it all!

"Myrtle Beach seems to have some weird MD fetish going on"

I have NO idea what this is supposed to mean.

LOTS of people from Md have have moved to the Carolina's.

The crab cake you love is the only good one. It's the same with chowder. You can get good chowder here and there, but it's not the same. It's not the best.

Lots of people have moved from MD all across the country but I have never seen any other place in the country that has such a dense concentration of MD themed restaurants and MD franchises. Nowhere else in the Carolinas either, just Myrtle Beach.

Yea you beat me to it.

I love crabs as much as anyone but in any given year those tasty Maryland Blue Crabs might be imports from elsewhere.

Tasty Thai Blue Crabs.

This is why it's not bad living by the Bay and getting them from the waterman who caught them. As a note, unlike the last couple years, they're being caught in the main stem and not just the rivers this year.
