Default Greenbelt, MD

I just received a job offer in Greenbelt MD. Any information on this area is very much appreciated. It will be myself and three kids (8,6,5). Can anyone tell me what the elementary schools are like or where to live. My housing budget is $1600-$1800 for a 3 bedroom. Thanks in advance.

Greenbelt is ok- not great, not horrible. I'd go with private schools, if you can possibly afford it.
Stay away from Springhill Lakes!!!!!!

What happened to the AIMCO upgrade of Springhill Lakes? Is the plan still going to be implemented?

Aimco and the county was at an impasse regarding the building of the new elementary school that was part of the redevelopment plan.

Last I read Aimco was looking at selling the property. Sale of apartments could jeopardize redevelopment plan

I would stay away from Springhill Lake until that situation improves.

The infrastructure for Greenbelt station is being built. Overall Greenbelt is fine outside of Springhill Lake.

It All Depends On Where Exactky You Live In Greenbelt As Far As What School Zone Your Kids Will Fall Into. The Middle Schools Aren't Good But The High School That Alot Of Kids Get To Go To Eleanor Roosevelt Is A Nice One. I Know One Of The Elementary Schools Is Nice Its Called Magnolia But They Have Several. To Be Quite Honest You May Want To Try A Neighboring City Like Glen Dale, Crofton Or Bowie. Bowie Has Some Nice Apts Around Your Budget And They Have Nice Schools I'd Probably Start There. I Doubt The Other Cities I Mentioned Have Apts. Congratulations On Your New Job And Good Luck On Your Search For A New Home
