So, what are the odds a older pro-business white male has a chance in the Dem. primary? I say, "not very good," but there is still plenty of time for things to get shaken up.

The second question, what will happen to his Congressional seat? I felt like Western Maryland lucked out in getting a Democrat who was more outcome oriented than idealogical. Not sure we will get so lucky this time around.

There was an article today in the Post.. Several people were mentioned as possibles with a couple already declaring. David Trone was one. Only one of the 4 or 5 live in the district. Trone does not.

Yeah, it is becoming a pattern I am not thrilled with. Too many Montgomery County Democrats, and down-state Republicans, sees the 6th district as the place to go carpetbagging.

Delaney was pretty good, he came out here often to have "office hours" to any and all who wanted to darken his doorstep and bend his ear. I am not convinced his successor will have the same desire (and ability) to communicate with the far western reaches of his/her district.

He won't have a shot in the presidential primary.

Every time I see this thread title, I keep reading it as "John Delaney running for PONTIFF."

Yeah, an "edit thread title" button would have been really helpful here.

But other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?

Hey westsideboy...check this out. Pretty funny. "Who likes Smithsboro?" Lol.

There's a satire blog called The Hagerstown Report that is hilarious. They took this and ran with it. Whoever runs that site is very creative. We do like to laugh at ourselves.

I bet he makes the same mistake when he goes to Gaithersville and Rockburg.

No, that would be Trone running for Pontiff. Have you ever listened to him? At least he never got excited when a team made a football.
