The dragon burned at Enchanted Forest!!!
Does anyone remember the Enchanted Forest? It's been closed down for quite awhile, but the castle/ opening gate is still there at the Enchanted Forest shopping center. Apparently, it caught fire yesterday while they were trying to repair it. For anyone who has memories of the Enchanted Forest, much of its displays have been rehabbed, and are available to see at Clark's Elioak Farm on rte 108 in Columbia. It's really neat to see all the old stuff- and there's a petting farm there for kids, along with a hayride.

I used to go there as a kid. I didn't realize it basically had been left to rot until a few years ago when I came across a photo site that had pictures of it buried in weeds. I've been following its story ever since. I'm glad they restored some pieces, but it would've been nice if they could have saved the whole park.

Wow! How did it catch on fire while repairing it?
That place is a million tears old in my memory. Sort of like Marshall hall in PGC.

Hey, I remember Marshall Hall also. How 'bout Kiddie Land on New Hampshire Avenue near the district line in Takoma Park? Its funny how all those child hood "hot spots" are gone, but we all remember them fondly.
One thing about Enchanted Forest, I went there quite a few times as a kid, but I always thought it was soooo far away. I lived in Langley Park and Ellicott City was the other side of the world. To go to Enchanted Forest seemed to me (at the time) like going to Disney World. Amazing how, as an adult, I realize how close everything really is.
