Neither do I. And Leggett isn't using taxpayer funds to "pay for his debt." He's using it to install a private bathroom for himself.

To say he was using taxpayer money to "pay for his debt" makes it sound like he's embezzling money.

The issue is the economy is terrible right now and their are families in Montomgery County who are stuggling to pay their property tax and mortgage every month. For a politicain to have the citizens who are stuggling right now to take on more debt that is not their debt is crazy. If he wants his own bathroom he needs to use his paycheck and pay for it. When a Montgomery County resident need to send their child to school, pay for their mortgage, buy food, gas they use their own hardworking money. We are talking about a guy who makes 6 figures a year, we know he can afford to pay 60k to build his own personal bathroom.

When a Homeowner of Montogmery COunty need to renovate their home they either have to refinance their home or pay for it out of their paycheck.

I don't use my own hard earned money to build a bathroom where I work. Why should he? I'm sure they could put the money to better use, but in the end, it's not going to make much difference to me wither way.

I think that is a ridiculous price to pay for a bathroom! I don't think he should pay for it himself, since it's in his office, but 60k???? If he needs a private bathroom so badly, then I would think he should go as low cost as possible- but I'm sure there's other bathrooms in the building. Think what $60,000 could do elsewhere- let's buy some computers for schools. Or hire a teacher. That would cover a teacher's salary for a whole year- and then some.

THe building do have other bathroom but he made comments stating he should have his own private bathroom because he is tired of sharing bathroom. The economy is very bad right now. The school system can not afford to hire more teachers because of the economy. This guy will fire 225 governement employee because the county does not have the money to continue to pay all of the staff. If he knows this then why waste 65k to build a bathroom. I bet the price will increase. I wonder what else the government been wasting the county citizen money on.

If it is his own bathroom then how does he take it with him when he leaves? Does the next exec pay that expense out of his salary. Private bathrooms for executives is normal. I don't think a person at that level should be expected to let the public and others at large into their most personal moments do you? Geeeez can you imagine if the press were in there when he passed one? That would really be a great sound bite on YouTube. Is nothing private anymore?

If you read the article, it states that it is not his own private bathroom. It's just across the hall from his office, but others will use it too.
