Sure there is @bobspez, It's in the ballot box.. IF voters come out and vote for their own interests.. versus Political Party line.. Then, regardless of Deep pocket lobbyists whoo often pay for laws to benefit them will lose! At one time.. BIG $$ was cut out .. until "Citizen United SCOTUS Ruling" ... Now we have Politicians who pander to their donors NOT their Constituents!! Even McCain was for getting BIG BUCK Donors OUT of Politics back in the day!!

So, once common sense and voters come out to vote and learn the lessons of the past.. IF one doesn't vote.. They can't complain!!Then again " Gerrymandering too has been addressed. It's high time this practice gets nixed PDQ.. IF any party feels the need to alter voter blocks to hedge their margins....IT's time to call them ALL out!!

Allow the voters to vote.. and let the chips fall where they may!! Also, pick the right type of Politician, that actually represents their voters!! So, Voter's vote for whomever represents what you want, in primaries.. that way, it becomes much easier come final voting day!! At least get the person on the ballot who represents your views!! Not voting should never be chosen IF you wish to make a difference!!

No, I was setting him on the correct path about a rumor he'd heard. He was surprised because the people who told him the story would "never lie". Except they did in this case, as well as others.

The other issue was how increasing commercial property values bring in more tax money to the jurisdiction. That isn't really accurate due to the Constant Yield Rate (you can't collect more tax dollars next year than you did this year). In order to capture tax revenues from that increase you have to increase the tax rate above the CYR on everybody.

He's a developer so he knows that. He also knows that a lot of people don't understand it. I happen to.

Thread closed: The topic of the thread is general politics in nature, not specific to the State of Maryland. National politics and elections have their own forum. Thank you for understanding.
All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.
