Last week we had a power outage and were sent home. Now the employer is saying we need to make up work this week (new work week) or use our PTO time to compensate. Do I have to do either of things legally? Can they make us work or use PTO to cover something that was out of our control?

Sent home without pay? That's par in lower level jobs.

To put in extra time? That would or should be overtime pay rates.
