I will be voting for Hogan. I'm sure he will be the only republican I vote for, but he's not really a republican, I consider Hogan more of an independent. He tends to simply do what's right and what should be done. I like his way of governing. He has no problem going against the dems or conservatives if he needs to.

I think he has been a pretty decent governor.

This is it for me. He does what an elected official is supposed to do He works with and for constituents. The fact that he has some seniority doesn't hurt.

The only other thing I will add is that if you are strongly anti-Trump, it helps to vote for moderate GOP candidates if you support their policies. If moderates of either party can't win, they will disappear from the political landscape, and we are all left with only the radicals. I think this is a national trend, look at what happened in New York on Tuesday. I hope it doesn't play out in Maryland, but it isn't really up to me.

I know it isn't an easy decision. I think I have expressed questions on this board about how I could personally ever vote for a Democrat based on where they are headed as a national party, but I am forcing myself to keep Cardin in consideration. No, he doesn't need my vote and I am about the polar opposite of him politically, but he excels in constitute service, and shows up in Western Maryland a lot and stumps hard for us despite not getting many votes here. What universe do you live in? He's a Sarbanes clone. Meaning constituent service is an undiscovered country for him. Hell, even Hoyer can't get him to do anything down here.

Here is a couple of recent things.

Federal funding to help with downtown mall project | News | times-news.com

Sen. Cardin expresses optimism for proposed Cumberland River Park | Local News | times-news.com

He is up at Frostburg State at least once, probably more like twice a year for "office hours" anyone can schedule an appointment and stop in. He also wrote back to a relative of mine who had contacted him. That may not sound like much, but this relative is a hard-core Trump supporter, and no doubt the letter was to that affect. Van Hollen blew off the same letter, Cardin at least directed a staffer at minimum to craft a response.

He is no Babs, she managed to break 50% here a few times..........probably the most recent Dem to accomplish this.........but I do feel he is of the old school public-servant type politicians.

Then you and I have totally opposite impressions of him.

Your answer is both considerate and deep.

Mr. Jealous isn't merely misguided; he's downright dangerous. I hope that enough Marylanders have the good sense to make sure he doesn't get anywhere near Annapolis.
What kind of people are getting released? Not everyone in prison is a bad person.

I'm a Democrat and am unapologetically voting for Hogan. A moderate will always be my favorite.

I think that is a little strong. Yes he could more for all of the Southern Maryland counties but I do like what he has done so far for the state in general.
