Default Park Mills Road in Frederick

How is this road that extends from Urbana Pike to Dickerson Road? Is it a country setting? Is it a safe area? Is it convenient to shopping?

Thanks!

What kind of taxes are we talking here? Is Gaithersburg and Germantown in Montgomery County?

Like I said before, we may rent at first so property taxes wouldn't be an issue. Are there other taxes to think about?

And as far as Catawba Hill is concerned, there is a condo I saw online that was nice on the interior. So how's the area in general?

Gaithersburg and Germantown are both in Montgomery County. Tax information for the county can be found here - Department of Finance-Montgomery County-Maryland

I don't know about condos but even for older homes you need to be prepared to pay $4K and up yearly - property taxes are based on purchase price/phased in assessment values . . . which have skyrocketed in the last 6 to 7 years because of the crazy rate of appreciation in this area (somewhere around 25% yearly)(that has, obviously, leveled off with the current mortgage/housing crisis but the tax bases have been altered forever). There are also foot front fees and all other kinds of assessments in this area - Maryland is a very heavily taxed state. I've said it before - someone on this forum said a while ago "if you can dream it, Maryland can tax it" and it is true. We get a lot of good services but you do pay through the nose for it.

Dickerson is a very rural area in the upper northwest point of Montgomery County, where it meets Frederick County and is bordered by the Potomac River on the west. There is nothing around there in terms of shops, etc. Very, very rural. Urbana Pike is otherwise known as Rt. 355. It stretches all the way from above Frederick to Georgetown in DC.

Depending on if you are renting an apt or a townhouse/home and the area in which you rent you will find that rent an also be very high - depends on what you are looking for in terms of housing.
