Couple in late 50’s and early 60’s, retired and can work from home. Thinking of selling the pricey home, downsizing and finding an easy, quiet life in a smaller town and more time gardening and boating. Can you speak to life in Cambridge? Socialization, crime, quality of life, economics and future of the community? Anything you have to share will be appreciated. Thanks!

Can you speak to life in Cambridge?
Can you speak to how you came up with this choice?

We have a few Eastern Shore posters who should be along to give you more detail.

Overall the Eastern Shore has a slow pace of life, lots of agriculture, lots of water access and boating. The "lower shore" where Cambridge is located also has some economic stagnation, drug problems, and petty crime, more or less the same schtick you will find in many/most rural area that are struggling.

Cambridge city limits would be a different story than living in a rural part of the county, or a retirement community though. So, again, not from there specifically, but are you looking to move TO Cambridge, or just looking at Dorchester County in general?
