Philly to Carroll County (Baltimore, Westminster: rentals, condos, crime)

My husband and I will be moving from urban philly to suburban carroll county.

After much research, i realized majority of the rentals are "townhomes".
Are there any condo-like/apt complex rentals? Our budget is anywhere from $1000-$1500/month. Looking forward to the space compared to our current 450 sq ft apt in philly. From our first "tour" of westminster, we noticed there's a lot of land. We are not too keen on this for that means more lawn/garden-care and we're not exactly mr. & mrs. greenthumbs.

So, to summarize:
- Rental unit
- 700-1200 sq ft of space
- Minimal landscaping if possible
- Free parking
- Close to highway/freeway

Any town/developments with such criteria within 20-30 minutes of Westminster? Preferrably closer to Baltimore County?

GC, in Westminster itself there are some pretty decent condos on Cranberry Rd, behind Town Mall, and also out Rt. 31 heading towards New Windsor, around Tahoma Farm Rd, on the right. A little closer to Baltimore County line is Hampstead. There's a complex of condos around Lower Beckleysville Rd. I think you turn in Dogwood Dr. or something like that. I'm not sure if these are buy only, or lease. Hope this helps!

Carroll County Times: Westminster, Maryland

How about checking our newspaper under classified? You could check every couple of days. On Rt. 30 in Hampstead there are a few homes with not a lot of land to take care of and which lists a For Rent sign. The homes are lovely from the outside and one was just completely redone, inside and out. Good luck! Carroll County is great and extremely clean, and has an EXTREMELY low crime rate. You won't be sorry. Look at Manchester and Hampstead -- Westminster is a ittle higher priced, but beautiful all the same.
