Where to live between Andrews AFB and Baltimore
We are relocating to Andrews AFB and looking for an area to live that would ideally be a 30 minute commute to both Andrews AFB and Baltimore (for job purposes), could be 30-45 minutes during rush hours. Does such a place exist? Any information would be helpful as the traffic patterns and commute times can be very hard to decipher.

Howard county does not have the best schools.
Schools are base uppon the community you choose to live in or live in.
If you live an Affulent community more then likely, your community school will be an good school regardless of the couty you live in.

Thanks so much for the info. We are not looking to buy a house at this point, just rent, and schools not immediately important, but will be in a few years. The main thing is that both of us have to be able to reach work within 30 minutes at almost any time of the day.

I think Bowie does sound like a good option.

We used to live on Andrews and lived on base but knew people that lived in Waldorf and Crofton, they seem like good areas.

What are you talking about? Howard County has some of the best schools in the state!
Anyhow, I think Greenbelt or Laurel would be a good choice. Bowie would be a strain as far as commuting to either locations. Rt. 50 is heavily congested during rush hour.

I don't think you want to commute from Waldorf to Baltimore. I commuted from Waldorf to Columbia (midway to Baltimore) for awhile and it was 1hr 20min to 1hr 30min commute. Not fun.
