Default Edgewater, Annapolis, Cape St Claire

All right local experts I need your help. Wife and I have been living in Columbia for 4 years now and are looking to take advantage of the single family housing market in the Edgewater, Cape St. Claire, Annapolis area.

We have been looking for a few months now and really like Edgewater, but havent explored the Cape St. Claire area much at all. We know downtown annapolis but have heard a few things about the "public housing areas".

What are your views? Edgwater areas of Beverly Beach and Selby seem to have the most houses available. I love being able to walk to the water. Edgewater has the new shopping center at 214 and rt 2 as well.

Please we are looking for all advice! Thanks in advance.

Cape is much nicer. The school's are quite a bit better. It's not as convenient to shop in Cape, but it's quieter and less traffic. There are community beaches and they are on the Magothy which is a sandy bottom river. Very nice. I'd choose Cape St. Clair.

Default Great Living in Cape St. Claire!

I agree that Cape St. Claire is the place to live. We moved here from Crofton several months ago and could not be happier. We researched tons of communities throughout Anne Arundel county and decided that here is the best. I did like Edgewater but found many of the roads and houses were a bit close together.

The public high school for Edgewater is South River and here in Cape St. Claire is Broadneck. Both are good, which factored into our decision of where to live so that we did not need to pay for private schools.

I like being close to the Bay Bridge here in the Cape, and also have met many great people. There are many organized sports for kids of all ages which is a good way for families to congregate.

Arnold and Severna Park are also nice communities, although not all areas are water privileged, which is something we felt would add to the value of our house here in the Cape.

Agree about the lack of shopping nearby, but we usually go to Graul's in the local plaza or travel about 4 miles to a Giant in Severna Park.

I hope this helps - the Cape is a wonderful place to be!

We live in West River, a small town 15 south of Annapolis and love it. We are in a wonderful community, sidewalks, paved paths, community pier and beautiful houses! It's rural, but not far from Edgewater/Annapolis area. There are some houses in our neighborhood that are for sale, around 500k.
