Thumbs up City Info requests

Since I am attempting to post on new cities each day - pretty much anything that is not covered by City-Data such as local businesses, places to eat, neighborhoods, roads, history, obscure facts, etc. - I would welcome any requests for specific cities to post on. I can't guarantee I will be 100% knowledgeable about EVERY city, but having lived here for so long and networking with people across the state, I will always give it a fair shake. If for some reason I am bombarded with requests, I'll try to stay on a first come first serve basis. Let me know what cities YOU want to know about and I will try to get the best info to you. You can also raise specific questions and more often than not, I will be happy to research the information for you.

I actually enjoy doing this because I get to learn as I go, plus it raises some great memories of growing up here. So, show some support if you want me to keep it up - it's a great way to kill some time during the lunch hour!

Default post on silver spring, MD please...

I am an interior architecture student assigned the project of creating an info center that is representative of my hometown: Silver Spring. I would like to know what others think is the essence that makes Silver Spring. So far I have been focusing on the multiculturalism and the current economic revitalization of downtown. I think the arrival of AFI and Discovery Communications has done a lot for the area. In comparison to the other metro areas, Silver Spring seems to be one of the most racially diverse which I feel AFI and Discovery capitalize on.

Default Westminster MD

Greetings. What a challenge you have created for yourself attempting to post for every city! You mentioned that you are taking requests (however it is understood you may be unable to answer them all) - I would like to know more about Westminster MD. Thank you in advance for your time and efforts!

I've been living in Northern Virginia for the last 25 years. I will be moving to the Baltimore area this summer for family reasons. I'll be staying with family who live in the Bel Air/Abingdon area, and I will be looking for work in that area as well. Any info you can provide on Northern Baltimore County/Harford County is much appreciated. And thank you so much for taking the time to update the Maryland info as you've been doing. I too love Maryland.

Default easton

I'm thinking of moving to easton- can you tell me anything about the area - diversity, schools, etc.? I'm trying to get an idea of the cost of living in MD. Can you give me a rough estimate of the property taxes. Also, I noticed on several sites that MD charges a personal property tax - what is that? What are auto insurance costs? I'm sure everywhere is cheaper than NJ, but I'd like to get an idea of what they are in MD.

Thanks for your help.

Terry

Default Edgemere

Does anyone know anything about Edgemere? My family is moving to the Baltimore area this summer and we have no idea where to live. I have a 13 year old son. Edgemere looks like a cool spot on the map but you never know.

pkoons, you are a veritable font of info! I am so glad I found your posts. They are really helping a lot.
