6 month lease in Annapolis, Crofton or Sev Park (Severn, Severna Park: apartment complex, leases)

Hi! We are moving to MD in a couple of months. Husband is working at AAFB. We would like to rent for a little while until we can determine which area suits us better between Annapolis, Crofton or Severna Park. Can anyone recommend some apt's or townhomes willing to do a 6 month lease? We also have 2 boys so we would like something nice, in a safe neighborhood, etc.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

I've lived in Crofton now for the past 22 years. If your husband works at AAFB, Crofton would be the closest. Crofton is a planned, quiet, bedroom community. Unlike Severna Park and Annapolis, traffic isn't a hassle until you get out on Route 3/301 which is a major artery on the west side of Crofton.
If you're going to rent in Crofton, you might want to try Keswick Park Apts
which are relatively new, in the original Crofton planned community area. I don't know if they do 6 month leases though. You can contact them and find out. Just a stone's throw away from Keswick Park Apts across the street is an elementary school. West down Davidson Road/Route 214, about a mile away, is Crofton Middle School.
If you're looking to rent a townhouse in Crofton, a 6-month lease probably isn't doable.
Among Crofton, Severna Park and Annapolis, Crofton enjoys the lowest crime rates. There's not much to worry about in Crofton in terms of safey for your boys. They should find plenty of friends in the neighborhood to play with.
If you're looking for highly rated schools, Severna Park rates near the top among schools in Maryland, but like Annapolis, traffic can be an issue, especially along busy Route 2.

all 3 are good areas. Annapolis will have the most apartment options and the most quality of live activities. crofton will be closest. and severna park will have the best schools.

Most apartments should do 6 month leases. also check craigslist.com and realtor.com for homes and townhomes for rent

sometimes renting a home in an established community can give you a better feel for a town than an apartment complex
