We're hitting on all cylinders aren't we? I haven't seen this sort of action in any thread not titled

"Is Maryland a Northern or Southern State?"

or

"Looking for a great public school in PG county?"

in a long time.

I had voted DEM or 3rd party against Bartlett, and supported John Delaney.

FYI, I see and interact with more POC than white people on a daily basis because of my job. You really don't know me and shouldn't try to stereotype me because I live in a rural part of Maryland. That is the kind of nonsense my previous posts refer too. Rural Marylanders aren't a monolith.
Given the demographics of just the 6th congressional district, never mind western MD and the legislative district demos, I find that claim very hard to believe. Anyway, I agree with others who suggest this is a waste of time. We've gone way off topic.

Nope, I am telling you truth. I work in Higher Ed. in a direct student assistance role, aiding 100s of students every semester, most people of color, achieve their educational and career goals.

I would agree you are quickly getting to the point where you are wasting your time. If you can't take people as they are, and find everything outside of your existing knowledge base and comfort zone as "suspicious" or "hard to believe" what can you gain by posting here? You have a lot to learn about the state you live in. I hope you have the ability to accept your own blind spots and talk with people rather than writing them off based on stereotypes and suspicion.

Since you mention it... that bit of misrepresentation and alluding to that you've done here
(and in how many other threads) rather than just being clear and upfront...
well, saying pot. kettle. black. gives you too much credit.

I take people as they are when they present themselves as a person, and address me, as a person in return.

My tone with The Very Man changed once he agreed to ID where he lives. My tone towards you has been different as well. I have been very upfront about that in this thread and do my best to follow my own expectations. I am sure I have fallen short too, but you would be hard pressed to find many(any?) posts where I insinuate people are lying because they don't fit some expectation based on zip code.

I understand that because you live in a small community you don't want to reveal too much about yourself, (that's not an issue I face), but I find your coyness annoying.

You've admitted to speaking in riddles, and you've avoided answering direct questions from Bufflove and me. Mr Rational too I believe. I've let you off the hook repeatedly. No more!

You've said you interact with more PoC than whites. That's a*hard*thing to do in*Western Md. I'd like to know how you manage that?
I OTOH, live in a zip and county that is 60% black, 12% white.

So here's a couple of other*questions.*

1: Your higher ed work, is it confined to Md, or does it extend beyond?*

2: These PoC that you interact with, what % is face to face, and what % by other means?

3: A semester is 100 days approx, you interact with 100's over the course*of 100 days. Approximately how many per day? Two, twenty two?

I don't know where westsideboy works, but if his "territory" includes Frostburg State University (located in Allegany County), he's got plenty of opportunities to interact with people of color.

We have a 4-year college in Allegany County, there is a 4 year college 30 miles to my south, a 2 year college about a mile from my house, we have computers and internet access too for telework. It's 2020 man, even in the sticks we interact will all different kinds of people from all over the country and the world. You can accept that answer from a poster who has been here for 13 years and built relationships with many different posters from all over the state, or you can be the "new guy" and try to throw shade because you didn't enjoy being wrong about me. No matter what you think, I am confident that even the people who I disagree with most on here consider me honest.

Between higher ed., social services, and the prison system, my experience isn't unique out here. You only think it is because you don't know anything about my community. Your choice is to stick around and learn, or flame out here because you can't accept that people who disagree with you about Talbot County aren't old political hacks with no experience with diverse populations.

IF the vote measure doesn't succeed in having the decent outcome it goes to the Courts.
Then you get to recast all the arguments against decency again.
Then you get to watch the statue removed. As it should be.
As it should have been at any number of previous points.
At least liberals do have some consistency, in some things. Whenever you can't get your way by the democratic process, you go screaming to the courts to make things happen the way you want them to. Never mind that the courts should have nothing to do with a procedural matter (i.e. where to locate a statue), and never mind that the will of the people that liberals like to champion with their words could be thwarted if a court interjects in their decision-making. In your mind, being opposed to removing the statue is "indecent" and you are perfectly willing to trample on the rights of the people to govern their own affairs in order to get your way.

If I were alone in this sentiment your pique might have a point.
But I'm not alone. Far from it. Right?
