Default Maryland Assistance Requested

Greetings, My husband is getting relocated to a DC job. We have many children and need 4 PLUS bedrooms - dividing a basement family room into bedrooms works for us. What communities in Ann Arundal County are good - I have a friend in Shady Side who suggests Edgewater, Riva, and Crofton - How is Severna Park. We have a family who just moved to New Market - how long of a commute via public transportation is that from DC? Any assistance and advice needed. In the Virginia Forum it was suggested to me that I look for a double wide trailer when I mentioned our budget. Lets just say Crofton is out of our range.
The kids are 3rd grade through community college level. H-E-L-P!!!

Edgewater is expensive, very cute place though. New Market is in Frederick County and isn't, per say, close to public transportation. You would have to travel to Frederick. Crofton isn't cheap, so what budget are you working with?

Severna Park is a nice neighborhood. Good schools, safe community, but very expensive!!! If you are looking for a 4+ bedroom house, you'd be looking at a mortgage of over $600K easily.

I don't think the posters on the VA forum were commenting on your budget so much as # of kids. Families as large as yours aren't the norm closer in to the city. It wasn't nice either way, but some of the responses you got after the initial trailer jokes were sincere I think.

There are definitely plenty of 4-br homes around, just look farther out to meet your budget. You'll be fine.
