If you're willing to be flexible on the amount of land you require, you can find places in Ellicott City that might work for you.
Thank you, those both look fine for us. If anything, we wouldn't need that much land. We could be willing to go down to about 0.3 acres, or even 0.25 for the right place. We admittedly weren't looking that far south, and it seems like there are some better options down there. Just need to balance it with the potential commute. Thanks!

After some more conversations and thoughts, I think we are going to stick to Eldersburg/Sykesville as our priority. But we haven't given up on westminster or the Greenspring Valley area (between Owings mills and cockeysville).

Westminster: easy to get space and affordable. Good schools. Nice size town, but remote from any other areas.

Eldersburg: more expensive and less to do than westminster. Good schools. Much easier to get to other areas though.

Greenspring: probably comparable in price to Eldersburg. Not so great schools I think. Plenty going on between OM and HV areas.
