Default Some pics of the new National Harbor (in PG County)

Took a trip to check out the National Harbor project under construction just off the beltway in Prince George's county, MD. It's located on the Potomac River near the eastern end of the Woodrow Wilson bridge (under renovation) which is part of the DC beltway (I495 & I 95).

It was sunday mid-morning, and Mother's day, so there weren't a ton of folks wandering around in the overcast skies.
And sorry for the different sizes of the pics.

Here's a site about the project: National Harbor Home Page

Now for some pics:

1. The Wilson bridge (going from 6 lanes to 12) nearly complete. Alexandria, VA on the other side (that's the George Washington Masonic Memorial peaking out above the bridge in the middle).

2. The parking garage I trusted with new car .

3. Art at the entrance

4. Where are we?

5. Room for future growth.

6. Cranes at work.

7. One of three current piers reaching out into the Potomac.

8. Looking back at the project.

9. A little further to the right.

10. A low flying visitor.

11. Another pier near the main concourse.

I remember that! - Awesome pictures - can you give directions from the Beltway (495) or whatever way is easiest - I would be coming from Route 50 (Maryland Eastern Shore)

It would be nice if this was placed in the "Prince Georges County: A work in Progress thread." Anyhow, those are some great pictures. The build-out of the project is probably only 20%.

There's an exit off the beltway directly to the project (Exit #2). You should see the signs to "National Harbor".
