Default Insights for Pasadena

We are moving to Maryland and have been looking in Severna Park and Arnold. Our kids will be going to a school in Severna Park. During our last house hunting trip we saw a house in pasadena that was great, but I was unsure of the area. Can anyone give me some insights here? Thank you

Depends on where in Pasadena the house was. Areas off of Catherine Avenue for example are getting worse and worse as time goes one. Homes off of Magothy Bridge Road or down near Gibson Island are quite nice.

Default RE: Pasadena

There are also some cute neighborhoods off Edwin Raynor. Pasadena is like any other town with good and bad areas. Do you know what neighborhood it is in?

Farmington Village is very nice. We lived there for 2 years.

I also know of a nice home in Severna Park for sale, for a nice bargain.....

Magothy Bridge is ok, but the lots can be EXTREMELY small, the closer to rte 2 you get.

I always like the north east section of Pasadena, there is a lot of country out that way, but would make the drive to SPHS pretty long.

You're looking at horrible traffic if you buy in Farmington Village and $600-$900's to buy.

Wow...600's. A lot more than when we were there. There are townhomes for sale cheaper though. And they are big townhomes. I'm sure in this economy you could get it lower then 600K!?

The foreclosure single family homes in Farmington Village are listed at $495,000.00.

There are TONS of houses for sale in Pasadena with prices in the low 300's. They are not new but in good condition and in good neighborhoods. It's a buyers market.

It's a buyers market everywhere in the USA right now sadly, hence all of the foreclosures. The low $300's is going to get you a fixer-upper in Pasadena but if you're willing to put the time and money into it you'll be ok.

I disagree. My house is in the low 300's and it doesn't need a thing. New kitchen, 4 bdrm 3 bath .3 acre lot, near schools and in good neighborhood. The market has changed.
