Until living here I never had anything stolen. Im 29 and came from a large metro area. I posted facts from the local news (and hopefully you read more local news than just what I posted)and you still stay that its "safe". Being naive and thinking that "It'll be ok, I'm in Salisbury, its safe," will only make you a victim. Who do you think criminals target? Those that are dumb to the obvious. Im just trying to help and post factual info.

A little older than I thought. Enjoy your youth, but learn to respect your elders until you gain wisdom and experience of your own.

New "transplant" to the message board, and to the area
Hello, I am new to the message board and new to Salisbury area. I will be moving in 2 weeks to Salisbury. I am trying to find a decent place to rent. I don't want to live in a ghetto nor do I really want a luxury apartment. It seems that there is some crime in Salisbury, I was wondering if Maryland in general is a pro gun state. What I mean by that is Conceal and carry. I also saw that Berlin Maryland is a decent place to live. Anyone know of apartment complexes in that area? Thank you, for your time. Take care

Salisbury Apartments - Rent an apartment in Salisbury, Maryland
this link has many apartment rental areas in Salisbury. The proces are reasonable and the areas are nice. you should be able to call these places and ask about crime. But I do know that Booth Street apartments is not the place to live. There are so many rental apartments in Salisbury so you have a pretty good number of those to look through. Parkside apartments are very nice and almost resemble townhouses, but it is in a gated type setting.

hey thinks for the heads up on Booth street
Thanks for the tip. I'll keep that in mind next week when start looking at places to rent. I found a company called G.N.I properties, and there rentals are a lot cheaper than some of the on-line apartment complexes. I asked them if there in the ghetto, and they told me they can't tell me due to discrimination lawsuits. Anyways here is there website Available Houses by G.N.I. Properties, Inc. (broken link) I don't know if any of there places are good or not, but I'm going to check them out. Thanks once again for the reply.

I have never known GNI Properties to manage any dwelling I would be willing to live in. Are you a student? Apartments complexes in Salisbury are pretty decent. They are not inexpensive relative to the availability and pay level of employment in Salisbury. Sometimes you can find a pretty cute apartment in Newtown, which is really old town, in one of the large older homes.

so GNI isn't a good start for a place to rent from.
No I'm not a student, but I might go back to college if the colleges up there have any good engineering programs. I"m a machinist and CAD/CAM programmer. I'm just looking for a place where I will be left alone. I'm a very easy person to get a long with. I'm just afraid of my stuff getting messed with. Thanks for the tip about Newtown.

Consider Willards/Pittsville where there are sometimes houses to rent, too. Check The Salisbury Daily Times --- it's on-line.
