Default Relocating to Maryland

Hello. My wife and I have recently sold our home in northern PA. and would like very much to relocate somewhere within the geographic triangle of Annapolis, Baltimore and DC. We are not familiar with the area so we decided that renting for a year to get the lay of the land would be a good idea. We're looking for either a 55 and over community or a codominium/townhouse in a very nice, problem-free area. We're retired so public transportation is not an issue. We're hopeful that someone can steer us in the right direction. Thank you all in advance. WGS

Annapolis or Ellicott City would be good places to begin your search. Many builders in the area offer 55+ communities. The whole area is expensive though!

I live in Annapolis and right near where I live there is Heritage Harbor which is 55+ and they just built a brand new big condo building. Worth checking out.

There is also 55+ community down by Bay Ridge called Bay Forest senior apartments and there is also Bay Woods.

There are 2 new ones going up in Severna Park that I know of -- one on Benfield Road and one on Veterans Highway in between Generals Highway and Rt 97.

What's even more fun when you get here will be the MD income tax on your retirement income.

There are several 55 and over developments in or near Annapolis,

There is also a nice 55 and over condo complex in Waugh Chapel which is between Severna Park and Crofton. It is behind a shopping center with a parklike setting with fountain for the walk to and fro. If you want to go a bit east of Annapolis, there is Del Webb Chesapeake in Easton and a resort like active adult communinty called Symphony Village in Centreville. They have some rentals there. Good luck and happy hunting!

Question Specific apt complexes in Glen Burnie

I just accepted a job transfer to Glen Burnie. I now live in Leesburg, VA (72 miles away!). I need to find a place close to Glen Burnie, but, in this economy I am making VERY little money and need to keep a 1 br to 750 a month.

Can anyone pls.tell me about the safety/neighborhood of these apt rental complexes in Glen Burnie?

Cedar Creek

Quail Hollow

The Forest

Aquahart Manor

Crain Court

Where can I look up the ratings on these individual apt. complexes? I would LOVE to have a place in Laurel or Columbia, but, unless I find an affordable housing complex or apartment, I don't see that happening.

Thanks so much for all your help.
