Where are the best job listings for Harford/Cecil?
One half of couple has a new job in Havre de Grace. The Aegis, monster and jobster are not helpful at all with relevant job listings for partner. Any ideas about where to seach for professional/managerial positions?

You might want to check out the BRAC page. There are some job search resources there.

No, you prepare to feel stupid.
http://www.trulia.com/real_estate/Edgewood-Maryland/
http://www.trulia.com/real_estate/Bel_Air-Maryland/
if you click on crime for each city you will see belair violent crime is .87 Edgewood is 1.36 Agg Assault belair is .60, Edgewood is .85, Murder is "not applicable" in Belair, in Edgewood it is .03 robbery in belair is .26, Edgewood is almost double at .46
The whole area sucks and I'm so happy I'm leaving. By the way, to the person who said I was "obsessed with superfunds"...you should be too! dont you care that the water you drink is contaminated by underground mustard storage tanks kept hush hush by the good ole US ARMY right there?

We are glad you are leaving. You obviously have a problem with the county so different strokes for different folks. I gave the crime figures for the county so that you would see that HarCo has less crime than any other commutable county, less than the thousands. As for superfunds, people are concerned for the environment, but everyone is not going to have the same zeal as you do for these "superfunds". If it is that bad, I will move out or Maryland. And you did say Edgewood has a crime rate next to Baltimore which is also wayyyyyy off. Again, different strokes for different folks, it all depends on what the person who posted this board is looking for, quality of life, commuting distance etc. you tend to force your opinions on these boards, and you are not offering constructive advice. How could you when the only place on this earth you want to live is on the Eastern Shore????

LMFAO LMFAO LMFAO...okay, sorry man, but let me tell you something...i have family in edgewood, I've lived in Baltimore City (born) and lived ina place called HAVRE DE GRACE in HARCO. HAVRE DE GRACE, EDGEWOOD, AND ABERDEEN are the *worst parts of HarCo, and have 5 times the crime rate of joppa, but to really know any of these places you must be there in person. Havre de Grace especially has some issues. Why do I tell you that?
Picture this. You see a 2000 sq ft house, with a yard, in a seemingly beautiful, densely tight and diverse neighborhood. You ask the realator how much the house costs, just experimenting. They say 50 grand, or it can be rented out at about $400/month. You ask why. No answer. Attend school there for awhile, get beat up or schenked a coujple times, see someone pull a gun or two on the streets (especially south side), and have rocks thrown at you. That would be day one. Day two, how about you go and play some basketball, so you can be mugged for your shoes and ball and then possibly carved up for resisting. Woohoo. Day three, you can ever return to your home to see 30 kids running around in your yard or in your house destroying it, then proceeding to beat the living **** out of you. Or, you can volunteer your kid to be the local boxing bag.
Bottom line is, there have been stabbings, a quite high and regular amount of beatings, shootings, local gang violence non-stop, project problems, and poverty throughout the entire city as long as i can remember. It reminded me VERY much of Southeast Baltimore City. The place is not paid much attention by media, but in all reality, THAT MAKES IT WORSE. BECAUSE OF PEOPLE OBSERVING EVERY OTHER "CRIME-RIDDEN""" TOWN IN HARCO WATCHING STUPID PEOPLE DO SENSELESS ****, BROKE STREET YOUTH ARE RUNNING AROUND IN Havre DOING WHATEVER THEY CAN TO GET BY. Thus, being so neglected, this makes manners much easier. I will tell you something else, too. 9/10 people that go there (especially that moved there from less-such areas) HATE IT AND I MEAN HATE IT THERE. I even did too, cuz i was tired of all the BS there. I moved back out to Canton, then soon up to Pennsylvania (which, by the way, resembles..nothing).
Our elementary school is a title one with a 70% poverty rate. Our average testing scores are 33%...people are being murdered and torn apart routinely in a city of less than 20k. There is something seriously unique and disturbing about havre de grace that needs be paid attention too. If only people paid more attention to it, perhaps the place could flourish and the people ACTUALLY FORCED to deal with BS could for once have some peace and money, especially downtown, and pay LESS ATTENTION to many of the ignorant aholes running around committing crimes and joining gangs to look "cool" in edgewood and 'JOPPATOWN AND BEL AIR!!!" <<which, by the way, is the most overrated area in the united freakin states. It reminds me of Perry Hall. the preppiest town in maryland, with the exception of maybe 2 or 3 streets.
But in conclusion, Havre de Grace is the only thing remotely close to a city with problems that HarCo has...
Edgewood just has a bitta crime in the trailer parks and then punks in some townhouses including the little fake blood sets running around so publicized building suspense...edgewood has very little "horrible crime", and so does joppatowne. aberdeen has some more serious issues, but i mean good god. After reading everything on here, it is apparent to me noone has ever ACTUALY lived around crime, and If i were to go one about just, say 50 or so stories of bad crime in havre and baltimore that have ****ed me over repetitively, you would probably kill yourselves in shock. Do not fear North/West HarCo. Southeast (Aberdeen and HdG) are the only "threats' because there's actual poverty and city culture there... But i would suggest White Marsh over those parts simply because it IS safer, and you'll probably have more fun. Except for the fact you'll have to deal with the 2,000,000,000,000 little wannabees that attend the 99% white collar perry hall. They will annoy you, im sure.

And anybody trying to use internet statistics as proof to how an area is really like, go shoot yourselves...seriously...all that is is hype that is built around REPORTED crimes that are SETTLED by investigations. Just because one town has a "HIGHER CRIME RATE!" doesnt mean its "WORSE!!" than another town with a low one or vice versa. Its reality people. You can only know from experience.

What you say is true CJtheman07. Take it from someone who lived near Newark, NJ. Now THAT is a high crime area. Not many places in Maryland can compare to Newark. I think someone confused Joppa and Joppatowne. I honestly don't know where people see all this crime at. The biggest annoyance in HarCo to me is BGE!!!!!

yup
Yeah new jersey got a lotta bad areas, but a bad area is a bad area regardless the surrounding county/state, just as a man is a man no matter where he lives. As for the whole HarCo issue, some bad parts, mostly good though. Mostly better areas than the rest of Maryland, so deal with it.

I grew up in Harford County, Havre De Grace to be exact. Back then Havre De Grace was very bad just like Edgewood, then all the problems was chased futher south and Edgewood has become awful since! The best places to live are Joppatown or Abingdon for sure, I would even consider Havre De Grace because it is so quiet now!

Omfg yes you are so right. Havre de Grace is so much better than it was years ago...are you talking about like back in the 80s/90s era?
Like what neighborhood did you grow up? (just curious)
Before Bayview and all that crap? Cuz the nice thing is, they actualy DID something with the community, (unlike baltimore) and now, as a result, nobody there is stuck up, and yet its not as bad as it used to be. Things are homey around there.
However, doesn't mean it went away. I lived on the end of Battery Drive. Jesus christ was that a mistake on my part.
