Question Gun Laws? Concealed License?

i am moving from FL to MD next month, and I currently have a concealed gun license. What are our rights in this state when it comes to handguns? I also heard you can own automatic weapons too?!??

David, in Md. you pretty much have to own a business or be a manager where the owner will write a letter saying you need to carry. Personal protection doesn't enter into it. And sure, you can own a fully automatic weapon, IF you manage to get the class 3 license to do so... good luck with that.

Maryland isn't the friendliest state towards gun ownership, but it's not Cal. either, at least not yet. There are a lot of gun clubs around in Carroll and Frederick county. Welcome to the state; pm me if you have more questions.

Default Class III

The full auto issue is a federal one not state. You need to get a Class III licesense in whatever state you live in Maryland included.

Maryland is not a shall-issue state for concealed carry and does not have repricotiy with Penn. so I won't go there.

For more info on concealed carry in MD check out marylandshallissue.org. They are a fairly active group. Although full auto is a federal issue, some states do not allow it - Maryland does. There is at least one class III dealer and a range near Baltimore that rents full auto guns. My club, near Baltimore, is having a Thompson subgun show and shoot this weekend.

As far as CCW goes - you can protect your money but not your life. If you can commute from VA or PA you may want to consider those states. PM me if you have questions or actually relocate here.
