I moved from Prince George's County to St. Mary's County about one year ago and love it. St. Mary's is the safest along with Calvert. I have not heard of any of the murders, gangs, etc. that I would hear a lot about in P.G. The commute to work is long but the housing is very affordable. There are a lot of jobs in this area if you work in the IT and engineering field with great salaries. It is a peaceful place to live and I do not plan to move anywhere else in Maryland.

If I were you I would try Charles county,Bowie,Upper Marlboro.
WHat are you looking for anythings thats Baltimore countystay away far away crime will be coming in the next 3-5 yrs. Pg county is getting all the crime out to Baltimore and its already starting right now. You need to move to a county that is changing as far as cime goes. Those country county stay away people are moving to the rural areas and most of them are low income. You know what government think about low income people that most of them commit the crimes. If that is try they sure are moving to the Baltimore county and city.

Baltimore County has a very informative website that lists, among other things, crime statistics for specific regions within the county that you choose - by zooming in on an interactive map. The website is:

Why aint Salisbury safe? Pretty much every town on the Eastern Shore (except Cambridge) is safe to live in. There is nothing dangerous about Salisbury. WE have 0 murders so far this year, which is down 600% from last year.

Please again DO NOT lump PGC into one category.

Anyway, Upper Marlboro is a VERY SAFE place and it has a very suburban feel, yet close to the city with many ways to travel into the city, so there is not much traffic.

Money Magazine 2007, Greater Upper Marlboro, One of the best places to live. Please google it if you do not believe me. PGC's jewel...
