Default Apartments for single college student

Are there any apartments in the $400-$500 range anywhere near College Park? I've searched on the internet, and I can't find anything less than $700 a month. I can't afford that.

I've lived in Maryland before, so I know the area. I was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base for almost 4 years. But, I lived on the base the whole time and didn't have to worry about living expenses.

I highly doubt there are apartments that cheap anywhere in the DC area. You should be able to find a room in someone's home though for those prices although pickings may be slim even with that, but they do exist. Try craig's list and set the price limits for $400-500 and search DC and Maryland and see what pops up.

dullnboring is correct, my suggestion is for you to find 2 roomates and try a 3BR apartment in Seven Springs (off of Rt 1 in College Park), or find 2-4 roomates and rent a shared house.

$700 a month will only get you a filthy apartment in a crime hub (Seat Pleasant, Suitland, SE DC, Oxon Hill). Sharing is defintely the way to go.

There's no way I'm paying that much for an apartment. Getting a roommate is out of the question: I don't know anyone there, and I'm not sharing my living space with complete strangers. Thanks for the info, but I think I'll find somewhere else to move.

If you're looking anywhere within 50 miles of D.C., good luck, 'cause it ain't gonna happen.

Lmao!!! Look, I hate to break bad news to you but you won't find anything around college park at that price that doesn't include crime and the lowest form of life known to man. Try and get a rioomate or check out Laurel, Columbia, or commute from Baltimore. It won't happen in this area at that price and living by yourself. Try looking for someone who owns a nice house but rents out a guest room or basement thats seperate from the house itself. I know how you feel about having roomates but it won't happen at that price.
