Default Relocating TO MD or VA with autistic boy

Hi, I am trying to move back to MD after 14 years from NJ with a 5 year old Autistic High Funtioning boy. I heard that Montgomery County was good and also Fairfax County. Anybody has experience with both to let me know which one might be better? We are planning to move next August 2009. Thanks in advance for your help. I am really desperate.

If you are really concerned about education I would either pick Howard County or Montgomery..those are your best bets for your situation. Good Luck!

I worked in Mont Co and often had high-functioning autistic kids in my classes. I felt there was a lot of support for them as they mainstreamed, especially if the parents were in contact with the school on a regular basis. Sorry, I have no experience with autistic kids in other school systems.

Hi! I am a special education teacher in Prince Georges County and love working with high-functioning autistic children!! I would consider my school and my staff to be dedicated and knowledgeable as well. Last year I heard that Charles County was beginning a special program though I don't know too much about it.

I would say that Montgomery county has the autistic education program in the area
