Default Easton or Cambridge

My wife and I will be visiting the Easton and Cambridg areas this Fall to scout out a possible retirement home. I am looking for thoughts on which is a better location. We want to be on or near the water, want recreational activities near by and want a "charming" town with activity, but not too busy. St. Michaels is out due to higher cost and higher rate of tourism. Cost of housing is also a concern.

We've heard that Cambridge is on the way up and might be a better choice.

Thanks

I would say a visit to both is really the way to answer your question. Spend some time in the local grocery stores and places that you would need to frequent to see what living there would really be like- the people you would interact with.

I own a home in Cambridge and although the town has made strides in cleaning up the downtown, etc., I still feel like it has a way to go. I never feel very safe when going to the local stores. The Choptank River, yacht club, Great Marsh Park and Blackwater Refuge are beautiful, the Hyatt is nice. I am not as familiar with Easton in terms of the water access, etc.

I have lived on the shore for about 15 years and Easton has a wealthier community and subsequently nicer amenities in general. If I had to personally choose between the two, I would go for Easton.

I would look in retirement communities alot are very nice. I visited one with an aunt of mine in centerville very beautiful houses. There is also a newer one in Brigeville not far from beaches right off of 404. Good luck

Default Most definitely Easton

Please feel free to visit my blog on Cambridge. The site is: cambridgemd.blogspot.com

Unfortunatley, Cambridge missed it opportunity for progress over the last 4 years with a dysfunctional City Council.
